JAN-WEI (DAVID) LIU

​劉振瑋 所長

David is highly sought after by individuals and corporate clients in Taiwan and abroad, and he is renowned as a specialist in practice areas including general corporate, securities, fair trade, intellectual property rights, arbitration, negotiation, crisis management and M&A.  As a pre-eminent litigation lawyer with valuable experiences from managing over 700 cases, David was invited to establish the Litigation Department during his early career at the leading law firm in Taiwan, Tsar and Tsai, and later on becoming the managing partner.

Since 1992, David has devoted himself to education and community revival projects in China. As a result of the vast amount of time and effort spent on these projects, David has built tight connections with Chinese governments and authorities in most provinces. He has since been widely regarded as the expert on Chinese affairs, and has been highly commended by his clients on both sides of the strait and in the world. David is also the Group Chairman of Sino - American Lab. Inc. in Beijing, China, which is a leading biotechnology company focus on stem cells .

Owing to his outstanding achievements in law, David has been invited to give lectures to banks, NGOs and prominent foundations including the CPC (China Productivities Center, Taiwan) and III (Institute for Information Industry). In 1996, David represented Dr.Li-An Chen as his spokesman and campaign manager in the first-ever democratic presidential election in Taiwan.


David is a qualified arbitrator in both Mainland China and Taiwan, and he currently acts as the chairman of the Chinese Civilization Education Foundation (Taiwan) and the president of the Chinese Confucian Association founded in 1957( Taiwan). He also serves as a legal counsel to the Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation, Dharma Drum Mountain and Chung Tai Shan Buddhist Educational Foundation.
 
Milestones
Assisted the establishment of the first Industrial Park in China by Wei Chuan Corp., Uni-President and other prominent Taiwan corporations
Represented Manulife Financial to set up the first insurance joint venture in Mainland China and obtained the relevant licenses
Assisted Motorola, Microsoft and other top 500 companies to promote business in China
Represented Taiwan Glass with Air Liquide France in a US$900M joint venture in HwaiAn
Represented Taiwan Glass in a US$50M successful arbitration
Represented Taiwan Glass in a quick settlement in the US Court for a claim for breach of contract
Advised Tatung Group and its subsidiaries in US$200M M&A projects
